Andrew Cornwell

A former Liberal State Member for Charlestown, near Newcastle.

He used to be a Veterinarian.  He received a cash donation of $10,000 to help with his election campaign from disgraced former Newcastle Lord Mayor Jeff McCloy, and left a female dog on the operating table under sedation to go out and get it.

He didn't know what to do with the money at first, and knew it came from a developer.  He testified his wife and he had out it in a wardrobe for three weeks trying to decided what to do.

But he gave it to the president of the Charlestown Liberal party branch who knew that it came from a developer and therefore was illegal.   What did HE do?

He banked it into his family trust account and then wrote a cheque to the Liberal Party, Charlestown Branch.  These banking deposits leave audit trails, see....
